Announcements
Haven't changed this web site very recently, but I did add something today (2/28/09)on a new OBESITY web site started by the AAP. I placed the link below. Check it out, if your child struggles with his/her weight.
If you smoke, Dr. Morra believes it is in your child's (AND YOUR) best interest for you to stop. If you would like help from Dr. Morra, he can start you in the process, including prescribing smoking cessation products if need be, and arranging follow-up with your doctor. Talk to Dr. Morra today if you're interested.
As per the new CDC recommendations:

1) Hepatitis A vaccine will be given in 2 doses, ideally between 1 and 4 years of age; and 2) two doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine will be given to all children, usually at ages 12 months and 4-5 years.
Rotavirus causes severe vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration in many children. A new and improved vaccine to help prevent this viral gastrointestinal infection is now available, and will be given to all infants at their 2-, 4-, and 6-month visits. If they miss the 2-month dose, they will be unable to get any doses of the vaccine. Ask Dr. Morra about it at your infant's well child check.
New vaccines, including ones for tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough) and bacterial meningitis will be offered to all children 11 years and older.
There is a new policy regarding the treatment of ADHD. I have added the link to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where a lot of information on ADHD and other psychiatric disorders can be found.
